Our Story
The year was 2013 when Savannah and Chris first met. They connected via the now defunct social network, Vine, when it was in its infancy and eventually developed an online friendship. Chris was a popular content creator at the time who enjoyed showcasing his stop-motion videos on the social network. His 6-second loops were viewed by millions and shared by thousands, including mainstream celebrities such as Eric Stonestreet (Modern Family) and Joe Jonas (Jonas Brothers). During this time, Savannah earned a scholarship from the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) and entered into a national flight training program in Washington D.C. After successfully completing the program and appearing on the cover of Aviation International News (AIN), Savannah set her sights on a career in the aviation field. After learning about Savannah’s career ambitions, Chris floated the idea to Savannah about exploring aviation opportunities in the city that houses the busiest airport in the United States - Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Savannah ultimately entertained the idea and traveled South to visit Chris and to explore the city to determine if it was a good fit. Within two weeks of visiting, Savannah packed her bags and moved to Atlanta - not only to kickstart her career, but to start a new and exciting relationship.
Over the next few years Chris and Savannah spent a lot of time together and became best friends. Savannah was interacting with some well-known people in her new line of work such as Huey Lewis, Alan Jackson, Ben Carson, Kid Rock, and Jim Harbaugh while Chris was spearheading the launch of a new social network. Things were materializing nicely for the couple and they both knew that God had an awesome plan for their future together.
In 2015 Chris and Savannah welcomed a new addition to their family - Kahlua! Kahlua is a purebred yellow Labrador Retriever who was born on Christmas day. Kahlua is better known as Kuddly Kahlua by his fans on Instagram and YouTube. He is the star of the Praying Puppy video that went viral in March 2016. If you are not familiar, the video showcases Chris and Kahlua praying before a meal together. The video has amassed nearly 14 million views on Facebook, 3 million on YouTube, and aired on FOX News, People, Today Show, and several other television shows and news stations around the world. Kahlua was asked to appear as a guest on the Rachael Ray Show as well as a Netflix Original Film. Kahlua is the cousin to Hunter, Chris’s first purebred Lab, who has also experienced popularity on YouTube with his Hide and Seek video. Savannah and Chris are huge dog lovers and document their fur babies every chance they get. In fact, one of the primary reasons a great friendship developed on Vine was because both owned yellow Labs.
Fast forward to December 14, 2018 - the Proposal! Chris spent almost 2 months orchestrating a marriage proposal that would incorporate a large number of Savannah’s family members knowing it would increase the surprise exponentially. He wanted the day to be the most memorable day of Savannah’s life to date. The challenge involved corralling 20+ family members (some of which Chris never met in person) who lived 900 miles away and requesting their presence in Atlanta a week before Christmas and 2 days after Chris and Savannah closed on the new home they built together. Chris sketched staging areas, created a structured itinerary, recruited family members to record video, installed hidden cameras, and ensured everyone knew the cue word so they could rush the second-story balcony to applaud after he popped the question.
Once the stage was set, Chris got down on one knee and delivered a sweet, heartfelt message to Savannah. Her reaction was priceless and of course she said “yes!” The cheers were loud, tears were shed, smiles were bright, high fives were exchanged, and the end result was definitely memorable for Savannah and everyone who attended the beautiful event that day. Shortly after the celebration, video footage was collected from multiple interior cameras and family mobile phones so it could be stitched together to create a full-length marriage proposal video. The video has since been uploaded to social media, licensed to media outlets, and showcased on television shows.
Today, Chris and Savannah are enjoying a wonderful life together and hoping to expand the size of their family in the near future. It's a true love story!
